What we collect

• Your name and mobile number, given when you book, create an account, join the walk-in queue on our in-shop tablet, or hand them to a barber at the front desk.
• Your email address, if you choose to give one. It is always optional.
• Your appointments: what you had done, which barber, when, what it cost, and any notes your barber keeps about how you like your hair cut.
• Basic website information such as the pages you opened, so we can keep the site working.

How we use it

To book and run your appointments, to send you the messages described below, to have your history ready when you come back, and to keep our own books. We do not build profiles for anyone else and we do not buy information about you from anyone.

SMS and text messages

If you give us your mobile number, NY Styles Barbershop sends you text messages about your own appointments: booking confirmations, reminders beforehand, notice if a time changes or is cancelled, your receipt, and a short request to rate your visit. If you join the walk-in queue in the shop, we text you the moment your chair is ready.

You opt in by entering your mobile number on a form on this website or on the in-shop tablet, where the notice beneath the number field reads: “By giving your number you agree we can text you about your appointment: confirmations, reminders and your receipt. Reply STOP to opt out. Message and data rates may apply.” At the front desk our staff tell you the same thing before entering your number.

Expect roughly two to six messages per visit. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop. Reply HELP for our phone number. You can also switch texts off yourself in your account on this site. Turning texts off never affects your booking, and we will still email you.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your mobile number is used by NY Styles Barbershop for your appointments and nowhere else.

Who else sees your information

Only the shop. The services that carry our messages and run our website handle your details solely to deliver those messages and are not permitted to use them for anything else. If you pay by card, your card details go straight to the card processor and never touch this website.

Marketing

We send offers and news only if you tick the box asking for them, separately from your booking messages. You can untick it at any time in your account.

Changing or deleting your information

Open your account on this site to change your name, number, email or notes, or to switch messages off. To have your record deleted, call (631) 654-0605 and we will remove it, keeping only what the law requires us to keep for our accounts.

Children

We cut children's hair, but accounts and text messages are for the parent or guardian, not the child.
